Trailblazing recycling solutions
In the early 1990’s, we were ahead of our time. There were only a few companies involved in recycling existing waste streams and the topics of sustainability and recycling were not yet deeply embedded in the public consciousness. Today, recycling for the recovery of raw materials has become indispensable and, in addition to reducing the volume of waste, is a key part of a sustainable and responsible approach to dealing with our environment and scarce natural resources.
30 YEARS OF RECYCLING
For 30 years, HAHN Group has been dedicated to putting packaging plastics to good, long-term use through mechanical recycling and to helping to increase the recycling rate. From the very beginning, we helped shape the transition from a throwaway society to a responsible circular economy and want to continue contributing to the efficient reuse of existing raw materials as a market leader in the future through innovative recycling.
SIX SITES WORLDWIDE
As an international company, we are currently represented worldwide at six locations. In total, over 500 employees belong to the HAHN Group. Its headquarters in Hunsrück, Germany, combines over 200,000 m² all the work steps from the selection of recyclable materials to production under one roof and forms the heart of the Group with over 400 employees. The Germany-wide distribution is supported by the sales offices in Cadenberge, Köthen and Neu-Ulm. The Group’s subsidiaries are based in England, France, Canada, Italy and Spain.
PROCESSING OF 90,000 TONS
As a globally-leading producer of recycled finished parts made from post-consumer plastics, we recycle annually 90,000 tons of plastic waste from the Dual Systems. Each year, the varied packaging disposed of in the Yellow Bag is turned into 65,000 tons of hanit®, a unique secondary raw material used to manufacture new long-life products.
MORE THAN 2,000 PRODUCTS
Our product portfolio now includes more than 2,000 recycling products that are used in a wide variety of applications. Wherever high standards are required in terms of the load-bearing capacity and resilience of the material, hanit® recycled plastic impresses with its special properties. The footbridge on the beach promenade, the seat in the city park or the cable tray system in the railway network – there are quite a few things now that are made out of hanit®. And we are constantly adding new products and new application areas because our goal is to develop our range in line with the needs of our customers and to offer them maximum quality and functionality. For this reason, we are also developing tailor-made industry solutions for individual customer projects as an experienced project partner.

Products made in Germany, United Kingdom and Canada
The HAHN Group stands for quality and safety, because we always ensure the highest quality for our hanit® recycling products by means of regular material testing through internal and external quality controls as well as independently certified testing laboratories. Our hanit® recycling products are pollutant-free in accordance with DIN EN 71-3 (safety of toys) and since 2005 we have been awarded the German government’s eco label, the Blue Angel. The Blue Angel guarantees that products and services meet high environmental, health and performance standards. And, as quality is very important to us, we give a 20-year guarantee on most of our products.
