DATA PROTECTION FACEBOOK
Social networks (social media)
We maintain an online presence in social networks and process user data in this context in order to communicate with active users there or to provide information about us. We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the EU. This may result in risks for users as it could, for example, be more difficult to enforce users’ rights. Furthermore, user data within social networks are generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, usage profiles can be created based on the usage behaviour and the resulting interests of users. The usage profiles can in turn be used to, for example, display ads within and outside the networks that supposedly correspond to the users’ interests. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on users' computers, in which the usage behaviour and interests of users are recorded. In addition, data may also be stored in usage profiles regardless of the devices used by the users (in particular when users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them).
For a detailed description of the respective forms of processing and the possibilities of opposition (opt-out), we refer to the data protection declarations and information of the operators of the respective networks. We would also like to point out that enquiries and the exercise of rights of the data subjects can be made most effectively with the providers. Only the providers have access to user data and can take appropriate action and provide information directly. If you nevertheless need help, you can of course contact us.

We are jointly responsible together with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited for the collection (but not the further processing) of the data of visitors to our Facebook page (“Fan Page”). These data include information about the types of content users view or interact with, or the actions they take as well as information about the devices used by the users (e.g. IP addresses, operating system, browser type, language settings, cookie data. For more information, see the “Things you and others do and provide” and “Device information” sections in Facebook’s Privacy Policy.
As explained in Facebook’s Privacy Policy under “How do we use this information?”, Facebook also collects and uses information to provide analytical services, known as “page insights”, for website operators so that they can obtain information about how people interact with their pages and with the content associated with them. We have concluded a special agreement with Facebook, which particularly stipulates which security measures Facebook must observe, and wherein Facebook undertook to comply with the rights of the data subjects concerned (i.e. users can address information or erasure requests, for example, directly to Facebook). The rights of users (in particular to information, erasure, objection and complaint to the competent supervisory authority) are not restricted by the agreements with Facebook. Further information can be found at “Information about Page Insights”.

Facebook-Pixel
We use the Facebook Pixel of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) on our website. We have implemented a code for this on our website. The Facebook pixel is an excerpt from JavaScript code that loads a collection of functions that Facebook can use to track your user actions, provided you accessed our website via Facebook ads. For example, when you purchase a product on our website, the Facebook pixel is triggered and stores your actions on our website in one or more cookies. By calling up this pixel from your browser, Facebook can recognise whether a Facebook ad was successful, for example whether it has led to an online purchase.
In addition, the cookie enables Facebook to compare your user data (customer data such as IP address, user ID) with the data of your Facebook account. For example, if you yourself are a Facebook user and are logged in, your visit to our website is automatically assigned to your Facebook user account. Then Facebook deletes this data again. The collected data is anonymous and not visible to us and can only be used for advertising purposes. We only receive statistical data from Facebook for this purpose without reference to a specific person. This allows us to record the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes.
We only want to show our services and products to people who are really interested in them. With the help of Facebook Pixel our advertising measures can be better to tailored to your wishes and interests. In this way, Facebook users see suitable advertising (provided they have allowed personalised advertising). Facebook uses the collected data for analysis purposes and its own advertisements.
If you are logged into Facebook, you can change your settings for ads yourself under the following link. If you are not a Facebook user, you can manage your usage-based online advertising under the following link. Here you have the option to deactivate or activate providers. If you want to learn more about Facebook's data protection, we recommend the company's own privacy policy.
